The Associate of Arts in Teaching degree program is designed to provide a career ladder for teaching. The program prepares you to be an effective educator and provides a solid foundation for those interested in pursuing a baccalaureate degree in education.

The Business programs at Leeward CC can be the place for you to learn new skills, develop a career plan, and take the first steps in a new direction! We offer four programs of study, each with short-term certificates that can be earned in 6 to 12 months, as well as degree programs that can be earned in 18 to 24 months.

Each course of study requires general business and liberal arts classes in addition to specialized courses specific to the program of study. Upon graduation you will have the training to start an entry-level position or transfer to a four-year university to earn a Bachelor’s degree.

In our Substance Abuse Counseling Certificate of Completion program, you’ll be offered opportunities to develop the knowledge and skills required for Hawai‘i state certification. Leeward’s program fulfills the education requirement established for Hawai‘i state certification and satisfies a portion of the
experiential hour requirement.

In this part-time, two-year substance abuse counseling program, you’ll focus on developing both basic and intermediate-level knowledge and skills required of entry-level substance abuse counselors and work on developing a personal and professional maturity through a self-exploration process.

Courses and extensive hands-on labs include the use of state-of-the-art digital video technology and equipment, emphasizing video equipment operation, storytelling, application and mastery of equipment, and aesthetics.

Leeward’s TV PRO program is uniquely co-designed by industry leaders and university educators to give you the knowledge skills necessary to enter the TV production profession. Our courses, taught by working professionals and subject specialists, train you for entry-level positions in broadcast and non-broadcast operations in the television production field.
